Is it enough to just be…normal? The term hero has become so common place, so overused and cliché that its implications become pedestrian; or as Manzon points out, for his generation the carrier of powerful and often mixed messages.
faux hero is presented in the medium of photography – challenging the viewer’s perception of truth and reality. Traditionally dubbed a documentary tool, photographic imagery has been considered as a record of undisputed truth. With contemporary photography, the distinction between what is real and what is not real often becomes blurred – making the viewer aware of the role that technology and media play in our culture in the shaping of our perceptions of reality.
