Art Lab: Activating Absence In Review

The Art Lab: Activating Absence exhibition consisted of three separate parts. Each part was on display for one month, with one series of work highlighted on one feature wall of the intimate gallery space. This exhibition format afforded viewers the opportunity to have an extended experience and develop a personal relationship with each series of work individually.

Each part of the exhibition highlighted a different part of Ron Martin's career and his ongoing investigation of paint, materiality, and the viewer. For Art Lab: Activating Absence In Review, all three parts of the exhibition will be on display together, like a group of best friends reunited. Where before viewers experienced each series in isolation, now viewers have the opportunity to consider a glimpse of Ron Martin's evolution over a 30+ year span.

Part I was on display from October 3 - November 2, 2014
Part II was on display from November 7 - 30, 2014
Part III was on display from December 5, 2014 - January 4, 2015
