Step into the realm of visual poetry and experience the visceral paintings of Gary Spearin. Six large paintings (7ft x 14ft each) envelop and transport the viewer from the physical to the emotional realms. Space and texture oscillate between deep definable landscape and atmospheric surface textures of indefinable light.
Flawlessly fluid, Spearin’s paintings swirl and swell as tension mounts between the mirrored forms. Held in place by elastic bands of colour, the orbs pulsate in and through the depths of the picture plane, releasing an echo that reverberates through the paintings physical and illusionary borders.
Spearin lives in Plympton-Wyoming, Ontario and regularly exhibits nationally. He is represented in numerous private and public collections across Canada.
