Inaabiwin

Across Turtle Island (North America), there is a light that is always travelling. Although it cannot be seen, it is constantly active and present—moving between individuals and non-human life forms, between past and present, between states of being. It illuminates unseen spaces around us and within us, and connects us to each other, creating and building infinite strands of relationships through its flow of energy. In Anishnaabemowin, Inaabiwin means "movement of light" and is used to describe lightning. The exhibition shows divergent artistic practices personifying this light and the relationships it fosters, allowing us to move forward by connecting Indigenous worldviews with current understandings.
