Sarnia, ON – The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery would like to remind the public their last chance to view Ned Pratt One Wave, is quickly approaching. The exhibition, which opened March of this year will close on September 10, 2022.
In a place known for its changing weather, artist Ned Pratt searches for moments of quiet. The exhibition is a ten-year retrospective featuring over thirty large scale photographs and represents a period of dedicated focus on Pratt’s home island of Newfoundland. His works are carefully considered compositions that are the result of both chance encounters and patience.
Ned Pratt lives on the island of Newfoundland and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Arts in art history from Acadia University. His photography has been exhibited at the former Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, PREFIX Photo, the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, and in Oh, Canada at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (touring from 2012–16). Pratt’s photography is included in both public and corporate collections across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia.
One Wave is organized by The Rooms, St. John’s, NL. For more information about the exhibition and the artist visit jnaag.ca.
