This project was inspired by a small landscape painting from the JNAAG permanent collection. To help you explore this painting we have included a detailed image of the painting, some guiding questions to help you explore the painting, a cut and fold activity and some colour theory exercises to jump start your creative mind. We decided to explore the tradition of landscape painting through the medium of watercolour. Try your hand at a variety of watercolour techniques like salt lift, wax resist, plastic wrap lift, sponging, splattering and leaf resist. Once you have mastered some of the watercolour techniques, you will be left with a variety of brilliant samples from which we will instruct you on how to rip and tear to design a collage landscape.
